Nicholas Rickford

Nicholas Rickford has worked in international and British education for over 20 years. Before joining Sunmarke, he was Head of Secondary at Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, which was twice awarded Secondary School of the Year during his time in post.

Nicholas was previously Deputy Head of Secondary at the British International School Shanghai Puxi; Director of Student Achievement at Harrow International School Beijing; he held leadership roles in two UK state schools and had a successful stint in the corporate events industry.

Nicholas holds the NPQH, a PGCE, an MA in History from the University of Edinburgh and an MA (Distinction) in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham, where he achieved the Faculty of Social Sciences Academic Excellence Award.

Nicholas’s educational interests include oracy, instructional coaching, practitioner research and change management. He has taught various subjects, including History, Geography, Theory of Knowledge and Film Studies.
