Fiona McConnon is a passionate linguist and experienced leader in the field of languages. With over 25 years of senior leadership, Fiona is an innovative leader who enjoys thinking outside the box and nurturing and empowering staff to develop creative approaches. She enjoys team building and has a positive ‘can-do’ and tenacious approach to partnerships and problem-solving that achieves results for the school and community.
As a qualified teacher of French and Mandarin, Fiona has taught both languages at all levels from the ages of 5 -18, including GCSE and IB. She believes that languages should be used in real-life contexts and includes fun and interactive methodologies in her teaching to motivate students and develop self-confidence in their learning.
Fiona has a passion for bridging intercultural gaps. She is committed to promoting the richness of different languages and cultures to develop students’ mindsets to become truly global citizens.
