Our Approach
A Nerve Centre of Innovative, Purposeful & Character-Building Learning
In Primary, children experience a lively, engaging and academically rigorous programme guided by the British National Curriculum and enriched with UAE subjects. Learning is meaningful, creative and interconnected — with students immersed in STEAM, design thinking, Positive Education (PosEd) and real-world problem-solving.
From KS1 through KS2, our approach develops independence, confidence, communication, resilience and strong thinking skills.
Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2)
Building Confidence, Independence & a Growth Mindset
In KS1, we gently transition children into more formal learning through an environment that remains nurturing, joyful and curiosity-driven.
Children learn to:
- Develop early study habits
- Work both independently and collaboratively
- Persevere through challenges
- Build confidence in literacy, numeracy and inquiry
A strong emphasis is placed on Positive Education, introducing Growth Mindset, emotional awareness and wellbeing practices early on.
Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6)
Growing Competent Learners & Strong Communicators
In KS2, children become more independent, confident thinkers. They strengthen academic foundations while developing maturity and leadership.
Here, students:
- Expand their knowledge across all subject areas
- Develop effective communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrate respect, empathy and collaboration
- Deepen self-discipline and responsibility
By the end of KS2, students are articulate, curious and well-prepared for Secondary.
STEAM & Design Thinking – SPACE-X Centre
Where innovation, creativity and problem-solving come alive.
Sunmarke’s dedicated STEAM Centre — SPACE-X — transforms learning through hands-on, cross-disciplinary projects. Supported by specialist teachers in computing and design technology, students apply the Stanford d.school design thinking model to solve real-world challenges.
Children work on immersive STEAM projects that blend:
- science
- technology
- engineering
- arts
- maths
- humanities
Each project culminates in a final creation — something they design, build, make or present. Every class also spends two weeks inside SPACE-X each term, bringing ideas to life through making, constructing and innovating.
Social Responsibility & Global Citizenship
Developing responsible, empathetic and environmentally aware young people
