A Restorative and Values-Led Approach

Our pastoral provision is underpinned by Sunmarke’s Restorative Framework, which promotes a positive, respectful school culture.

Positive behaviours are recognised and celebrated through Flourish Points, while challenges are addressed through restorative justice conversations. These conversations help students reflect on their actions, understand their impact, take responsibility, and learn how to make meaningful amends — supporting accountability, empathy, and emotional growth.

Helping Students Thrive

Positive Education (PosEd)

Students take part in weekly Positive Education (PosEd) lessons, guided by the internationally recognised Positive Education Enhanced Curriculum (PEEC).

These age-appropriate lessons focus on developing essential life skills, including:

  • Resilience and emotional regulation
  • Empathy and mindfulness
  • Goal setting and self-awareness

Together, these skills equip students to navigate both school life and the wider world with confidence.

Growing Independent Learners

Life Skills and Personal Development

Alongside PosEd, students engage in Life Skills lessons designed specifically for their stage of development.

These lessons build practical competencies such as:

  • Communication and decision-making
  • Managing relationships
  • Confidence and independence

This journey is further enriched through a wide range of elective subjects and extra-curricular activities (ECAs), allowing students to explore their interests, develop their talents, and grow beyond the classroom.
