Ms Claire Young
Deputy Headteacher – Secondary
Claire Young is an experienced Media & Film teacher, who has been working in this arena for over a decade. During her six years at Sunmarke School she has been the Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Head Teacher. Since 2020 she has been working as the Deputy Head Teacher, responsible for the whole school curriculum and timetabling. She is passionate about developing the curriculum to ensure Sunmarke students can access a multitude of experiences and flourish into lifelong learners, ready for any challenge. Her 10 years’ experience working within the Sixth Form has also meant that she is an advocate for student careers and multiple pathways for them to be prepared and successful in their career of choice.
Claire holds a degree in Media & Film from King Alfred’s University and is currently working through BSO inspector training in order to keep Sunmarke up-to-date with the best practices and standards in education.
